About our school…
Topham Elementary currently enrolls approximately 350 students in 14 divisions, from Kindergarten to Grade 7. The school community is composed of students from a variety of economic, social and cultural backgrounds. Topham has three strands that identify its unique culture:
- Japanese as a Second Language is taught from Kindergarten to Grade 7, in addition to the regular B.C. Curriculum.
- Music specialists provide instruction to all students, with chime and bell choirs, recorder, ukulele and Band instruction in Grades 3 – 7.
- Technology is integrated into the curriculum in all classrooms, through the use of computer lab, mobile laptop lab of 30 laptops, 30 iPads and 2 Smartboards.
Currently, Topham provides English as a Second Language instruction to over 40 students, with several being international students. This diversity serves to enrich the lives of all its school community. International students have been a prominent part of Topham for several years and the school expects to have more students arrive in the coming years.
Topham has a School Mascot is a Tiger (Tora) and the school motto is P.A.W.S.
